Listen, if you want the Norway you see in photos but actually feel it in your bones, this 7-day trip is the one. $2,200 and you get the real deal, steep cliffs dropping into water so blue it hurts, tiny farms stuck on mountainsides, the whole postcard thing but better.

Day 1 – You land in Bergen, we grab you at the airport and drop bags at a cute wooden hotel right by the old wharf. Quick orientation walk through Bryggen (those colorful Hanseatic buildings), fish market for lunch on your own (get the shrimp sandwich, trust me). Afternoon we take the funicular up Mount Fløyen, easy hike with insane views over the city and the seven mountains. Evening is chill, fresh cod dinner at the hotel, early night because tomorrow starts early.

Day 2 – The famous Norway in a Nutshell route, but we do it slower and nicer. Bus to Voss, then train down to tiny Myrdal, switch to the Flåm railway, twenty kilometers of pure wow, waterfalls every minute. Down in Flåm we jump on the electric ferry through Nærøyfjord, narrow as hell, mountains basically touch overhead. Two hours of just staring with mouth open. End in Gudvangen, short bus to our cabin spot for the night, dinner around a firepit, sausages and local beer.

Day 3 – Proper hiking day. Moderate 4-5 hour trek up to a mountain farm that’s been there 400 years, guide carries homemade waffles and brown cheese for the top. Views over Aurlandsfjord are ridiculous. Afternoon free, some people nap, some add a kayak tour on the fjord (extra but worth it). Night in the same cabins, sauna is open.

Day 4 – Long but stunning travel day. Ferry all morning on the king of fjords, Sognefjord, deepest and longest in Norway. We stop in tiny Balestrand for lunch, then keep going to Bergen again. Back in the city, free evening, lots of folks go eat at the fish market or just walk the harbor when the light is golden.

Day 5 – Early train from Bergen to Oslo, six hours but the scenery is nonstop, high plateaus, lakes, little red cabins everywhere. Arrive Oslo around lunch, drop bags, quick walking tour of the new waterfront and opera house you can literally walk on the roof. Dinner not included tonight so you can pick whatever, cheap kebab or fancy salmon.

Day 6 – Viking day! Morning at the Viking Ship Museum, those boats are perfectly preserved, crazy to think they crossed oceans in them. Then easy hike in Nordmarka forest just outside the city, picnic lunch, super peaceful after the fjords drama. Last night we have a proper goodbye dinner with aquavit and all the stories.

Day 7 – Lazy morning, maybe visit Vigeland sculpture park if you haven’t, then we get you to the airport or train station. Most flights leave afternoon so no stress.

People say this trip spoils them for other nature trips, it’s that good. Small group, no giant buses, real hikes but nothing extreme, just perfect summer Norway. Spots go quick, especially July, so shout if you’re in!

See you in the North!
